Record Numbers at Boswells Summer Camp
The Boswells School held their now annual PE Summer Camp again this July, with a record number of students in attendance for the third consecutive year. The camp is now well into its second decade of being run and in recent years the numbers of students in attendance has continued to rise significantly, with 76 students taking part this year.
The camp sees children in Years 5 and 6 from the local primary schools attend a fun week of playing and performing in different sports, including football, rugby, netball, cricket, water polo, volleyball and basketball, before taking part in the celebratory tournaments to round off the week.
Summer Camp Leader Darren Page said, “The annual Summer Camp is always a great week for both the staff and the students involved. The students get to take part in a range of sports throughout the week, learning new skills along the way, and then compete in our end-of-camp tournaments to round off a really nice week. As staff, it’s great to see so many young people giving up their time to get involved in sport and, from the school’s point of view, we get to see and work with some of the good local talent coming through before they even get to Boswells!”.
The camp will run again next year with provisional dates set for the first week of the Summer Holiday, Monday 23rd July to Friday 27th July 2018. More information will go home to parents via the local primary schools early on in 2018.
