Years 7's travel to France!
On Saturday 4th May 49 year 7s and 6 members of staff met at school at 5am for our annual Daytrip to France. Despite the early morning the students were full of energy and ready for a fun day out. We arrived in Montreuil-sur-mer in time for the town's market where pupils had to use their French skills to buy what they would then share as their lunch. After a brief spell of hail we managed to get in a walk around the ramparts in the sunshine before heading off to the bread-making and wheat weaving activities. Pupils were then able to eat their bread creations and take home their heart-shaped wheat dollies. On our way home, we again managed to miss a huge downpour as we left the coach in the sunshine to pay our respects at the Étaples War Cemetery where Miss Grover informed us of the history of the area and led us in a minute silence. We headed back home very tired but having had a lovely day out with pupils having put their French skills to good use!
