A Year of Performing & Creative Arts
The Performing and Creative Arts faculty hosted their annual Awards Assembly on Monday 24th June. Students from Years 7 to 13 were awarded for their commitment to the Arts over a period of time. Parents and guardians were invited to be there to support and celebrate the students’ achievements. The Assembly took on a different format this year where we looked back at ‘A Year in Performing and Creative Arts’. The theatre was framed with beautiful art work created by the students and the Assembly was led by a visual PowerPoint showing images of key events as we went through each month of the year. The biggest change to the Assembly was that the review of each month of events and the majority of awards were hosted by the students themselves. The student involvement was something commented on from the audience as being a lovey addition and enjoyable to see. As always, there were a range of performance extracts on show from some of the award winners and again this is something fed back from the audience as impressive and a valued aspect bringing the Assembly to life. The morning was a great success and an excellent demonstration of all the incredible opportunities the faculty provides to students.
