A Level Results, Summer 2019
The Boswells School is delighted to announce that the A Level results achieved by our students in 2019 were again amongst the best set of results in the school’s history. The results maintain the excellent standards of attainment that are associated with the Boswells Sixth Form. The performance of the students this year has been superb and the school is exceptionally proud of all the students and their achievements.
This was an exceptional performance from all our Year 13 students. 56% of all grades awarded were at A*-B and 1 in 5 of all grades awarded were at A*/A. 88% of all grades were at A*-C and 99.8% of all grades awarded were pass grades in the 30 A Level subjects that the school offers. As well as our A Level results, the school was delighted with the performance of our students undertaking Level 3 BTECs with 44% of all grades awarded at Distinction* and 56% of grades at Distinction. All of our results are significantly above the national averages.

The overwhelming majority of our students have achieved the grades to take up places at top universities to study a range of courses. A number of our students are also taking up prestigious courses at Higher Education institutions across the country.
Stephen Mansell, Headteacher, was delighted with the results:
Once again, our Sixth Form students have excelled themselves with outstanding results and they should be incredibly proud of their achievements. Our A Level results are amongst the best results the school has ever achieved and this reflects the excellent effort of our students, the expertise and dedicated support from their teachers and the support from their parents. The students have achieved these fantastic results over the 30 A Level subjects that we offer, which is hugely impressive, especially against the background of the new more challenging A-levels. Many of our students have achieved their goal of getting into top universities such as Oxford, Exeter, Sheffield and Leeds, with one even securing a scholarship at the University of New Hampshire in the USA! I cannot praise our students’ fabulous work ethic and will to succeed highly enough as well as the amazing support that our teachers give, way above and beyond what is expected. Well done to all involved and good luck for the future!
