Munich Trip 2019

Fri 17 Jan 2020

I really enjoyed my trip to Munich and all the activities and trips which were planned. I was quite surprised by the Allianz Arena as I am not a massive football fan, but I found the tour quite interesting. Another good trip was to Neuschwanstein Castle. It was a long walk up a big hill, but the views at the top were worth it. It had snowed the day before and everything looked Christmassy. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas Markets, the Frauenkirche cathedral and the food in the markets – it was all very beautiful. The Film studio tour was a great opportunity to take part and get involved, as well as learning about what happens behind the scenes. Overall, it was the best trip and I made so many new friends and memories which will stay with me forever.

A week before my trip I was a bit anxious as not many of my core friends were going, however I didn’t need to worry as we bonded really well as a group. Not long after landing, we visited a concentration camp at Dachau and it showed me how lucky I am to enjoy the freedom I have today. During the daytime we were encouraged to use our German to order food and drink, and in the evenings we wrote a diary account about our day in our German booklets. My trip to Munich has given me countless memories which I will remember in years to come.
