The Young Leaders programme at The Boswells School continues to be amazingly well supported by our students who have really embraced the opportunities by getting involved in a range of activities throughout the local community. The Young Leader Award aims to help learners develop leadership skills such as organisation, communication and teamwork, as well as helping to build confidence and self-esteem as they take on responsibility of leading their peers and younger children.
The Boswells school has links with both the local primaries and with Chelmsford School Sport Partnership, both of whom continue to provide excellent opportunities for our students to get some valuable experience and develop new skills when working with others. Some of the opportunities made available to our students include:
- Interhouse Competitions
- Primary PE Festivals
- Primary Swimming Galas
- Sports Hall Athletics
- Mini Games
- Primary District Sports
- Local Primary Sports Days, amongst others.
Through the programme our students continue to be fantastic role models for all young people and represent the school brilliantly when out and about in the local community. Feedback from staff running the events, and the parents attending events, is that the school’s students are excellent leaders who are confident, well organised and able to communicate really effectively with younger students.
