Currently all of our students are working remotely with a mixture of live lessons accessed through Microsoft Teams and pre-prepared lessons which are uploaded to Satchel One. The schedule is designed to replicate a school day but also to consider wellbeing and limit screen time. It is imperative students log in daily to these platforms and check their school email for communication.
Students are able to contact their subject teachers if they need support with their learning or tutor or Head of Year if they have any wellbeing concerns. In addition, they will have access to Personal Development through the delivery of assemblies and ‘drop in’ sessions with members of the Pastoral team. A number of wellbeing tasks are shared weekly to help with mental and physical wellbeing.
If your child requires support to access an electronic device to complete their online work please contact their Head Of Year. If they require support with technical issues please ask them to email ITSupport@boswells-school.com. There are a number of user guides which will help to access our school online services which can be found following this link.
Staying safe online
During a time when children will be spending more time on electronic devices it is imperative that they are reminded about how to stay safe online. There are excellent links to help parents to protect their children on the school website by following the link.
Safeguarding remains a priority for the school whilst students are working remotely. A number of well-established procedures continue including regular communication with students and parents, multi-agency working and regular training for staff on how to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns. Our work is complimented by policies which have been reviewed and approved by our Governing body.
If you have a concern about your child (or another’s) wellbeing please contact their Head of Year. If you feel it is of a more serious nature or urgent please contact the Designated Safeguarding team:
If the situation is urgent and the school is closed please contact:
