Press release from Stephen Mansell, Headteacher

GCSE Results, Summer 2022

Year 11 students at The Boswells School have been celebrating today following an excellent set of GCSE results for the school, both in terms of attainment and progress.

Headteacher, Stephen Mansell, said: ‘I am delighted with our GCSE results this year and would like to congratulate every single one of our Year 11 students. Their results are due reward for the hard work and dedication they have continuously put in over 5 years at The Boswells School. Despite the challenges that the last 2 years has brought, our students have performed superbly and we are very proud of their efforts. I am also delighted that their results are significantly above the performance of students nationally. Whilst it is impossible to compare this year’s results to last year, these results are very strong, both in terms of attainment and progress and I am thrilled for our students. I would also like to praise the hard work of our teachers in helping our students achieve these results and the support of all our parents. Our continued high performance means that more and more of our students are achieving the highest levels of attainment and we look forward to many of these students returning to us to complete their A-levels in our thriving Sixth Form. Whatever their next destination, I wish all of our Year11s every success in the future.

There were too many superb individual performances to list, but of particular note were:

Ella B, who achieved 8 Grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Food Preparation, French, Geography, Maths and Physics, as well as 2 Grade 8s in English Literature and Further Maths.

Frances W, who achieved 7 Grade 9s in Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computing, Geography, Maths and Further Maths, as well as 3 Grade 8s in English Language, English Literature and Physics.

Toby H, who achieved 7 Grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Geography, History, Physics and Religious Education, as well as 2 Grade 8s in English Language and Maths and a Grade 6 in Further Maths.
