First Aid
An introduction to First Aid is taught through the Personal Development curriculum. A summary of content covered is:
Year 7: What to do in a medical emergency, choking, bleeding, burns
Year 8: What is your role in a medical emergency, head injuries, asthma attacks (Plus a recap of bleeding, burns and choking)
Year 9: Risks associated with banned substances, seizures, stab wounds, the recovery position
Year 10: How to manage an intoxicated casualty, CPR (plus a recap on seizures, stab wounds, recovery position)
Year 11: Risks associated with young drivers, managing the scene of a car crash, using a defibrillator (Plus a recap of CPR)
