The Pabulum Catering Company are delighted to provide the catering services at The Boswells School.  Pabulum’s Vision is to be at the forefront of improving the next generation’s health and well-being, by shaping the food culture in education that inspires a passion and love of fresh food – without compromise.

We feel strongly about educating the younger generation on healthy eating by providing fresh and wholesome food, as it's through a balanced diet and healthy food choices that students can maintain higher classroom concentration levels. 94% of our food is freshly prepared in The Boswells kitchen and 75% of the food is British and locally sourced. 

At The Boswells School we have a dedicated Pabulum team led by our experienced Chef Manager, Marguerite Sharpe.

Available every day at breakfast, morning break and lunchtime and made fresh in our kitchen we offer:

Hot Meal Deal £2.70 includes a main meal, jelly or piece of fresh fruit and a 300ml water

Cold Meal Deal £2.70 includes a sandwich, jelly or piece of fresh fruit and 300ml water

Side Hall Restaurant and The Cube

A selection of burgers, hot wraps, nachos, wings and wedges

Hot Meal Deal £2.70 includes a street pot, jelly or piece of fresh fruit and 330ml water

Cold drinks available all day from £1.00 to £1.60


There are digitial screens in school by the main servery and restaurant displaying menus for each day. Students pay for their purchases using their bometric finger print at the point of sale.  Please ensure your child's catering account has a credit balance using their ParentPay account to top up their school meals.

Free school meals

From September 2026, eligibility has been extended to include all households in receipt of Universal Credit. Other qualifying benefits include:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guarantee element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (providing you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit)

Children who get any of the above benefits in their own right (i.e. they get benefits payments directly, instead of through a parent/carer) can also get Free School Meals.

The daily allowance for students eligible for Free School Meals is £2.58 and it is advised that students use this allowance at lunch.
